Upcoming ADA Workshops
Health Care Access and the ADA: Know Your Rights
April 21st 10:30- Noon
People with disabilities have the right to equal access to health care under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). However, barriers in facilities, equipment, communication, and policies can still impact access to care.
This workshop will examine how the ADA applies to health care settings and what equal access should look like in practice.
Topics will include:
• Removing physical barriers
• Providing accessible medical equipment
• Offering effective communication
• Making reasonable modification to policies and procedures
Through a combination of ADA guidance and lived experience navigating the health care system, participants will gain a better understanding of common access barriers and the role ADA protections play in improving access for people with disabilities.
