The Council also hosts an Artists' Gala, an inclusive event where individuals can showcase artwork to people with disabilities, their family, friends and neighbors, employers, service providers, educators, rehabilitation specialists, social workers, senior citizens, health care workers, medical professionals; and more. What better way to share the excellent work and talent individuals with developmental disabilities have by celebrating abilities, artistic talents, ideas, products, and more!

The month of March is Developmental Disability Awareness Month. We use this campaign to showcase artwork to people with disabilities, their family, friends and neighbors, employers, service providers, educators, rehabilitation specialists, social workers, senior citizens, home health care workers, medical professionals; the list goes on and on. What better way to share the excellent work and talent individuals with developmental disabilities have by celebrating abilities, artistic talents, ideas, products, and cultural diversity! We encourage you to take part! 

Exhibit/Showcase – What you should know 

2024 marks the third Artists Gala! This is a reception where people can come and display their artwork, crafts, and talents. We are seeking artists of all natures to showcase their work, including but not limited to: painters, crafters, potters, woodworkers, leatherworkers, jewelry makers, sculptors, comedians, poets, etc.

We will provide one (1) approximate 8’x 8’ display area with a table and two chairs at no cost to the artist. We ask that all booths be maintained and staffed during the exhibit time. If you need a locked, secure space, please indicate this on the below form. Unfortunately, we will not cover any additional meals, room stay, or travel expenses. 

Please note: the Council is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged items. The showcase is for display purposes only and not for retail purposes. Please provide your contact information if you wish for individuals to reach out to you at a later date for purchases. Exhibitors who arrive without a confirmed space will not be considered formally registered, and will be accommodated ONLY if space remains readily available. 

Unable to attend, but still interested? We’d love to share your work virtually! We encourage anyone who is wanting to showcase their skills and work by creating slideshows of artwork, a quick video, or even an audio recording. We will be able to virtually display the work during our in-person event and online on our website and Facebook Page during the week of the event.
